What Is Callida Iunctura?

My idea is to share a verse translation every Tuesday, with audio recordings, and occasional essays on Saturdays, often but not always on the subject of translation. Some of the translations will be from my Penguin Book of Greek and Latin Lyric, others may be translations not included in the book, or newer things I’m working on, including work from modern languages.

Even if you have the book, here you can listen to me reading, in Latin, Greek and English, through my mellifluous nose. If you don’t have the book and would like a signed copy, get in touch with me; we can work something out.
